At Hotsy Cleaning Systems, we’ve always believed our work goes beyond pressure washers. For more than 50 years, we’ve partnered with Iowans to solve tough cleaning challenges — and giving back to the communities that support us is just as important.
That’s why we’re excited to share the launch of our new community initiative: Hotsy Helps.
Our first project: Honoring Iowa’s veterans
On Friday, Aug. 29, members of the Hotsy team spent the morning at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, volunteering their time and equipment to restore the grounds.
Armed with professional-grade Hotsy equipment, our crew cleaned the Fallen Heroes Monument, statues, large boulders and ceremonial gathering areas. The project was a meaningful way to put our expertise to work while honoring those who served.

Why Hotsy Helps matters
We designed Hotsy Helps to focus on high-impact restoration projects across central and eastern Iowa. From graffiti removal and park cleanups to monument washing and public space renewal, the initiative is our way of doing what we do best — professional cleaning — to make a visible, lasting difference.
“This project was a powerful way to launch Hotsy Helps,” said Charlie Strutzenberg, CEO of Hotsy Cleaning Systems. “The Iowa Veterans Cemetery is a place of honor and remembrance for so many Iowans. We’re grateful our team could help preserve its dignity — and we’re excited to bring that same spirit of service to other communities in our state.”
And the crew out there that day weren’t the only ones who felt the impact. As we worked through the morning, staff from the Iowa Veterans Cemetery shared their appreciation. For them, the freshly cleaned monuments and gathering spaces were more than polished stone — they were a way to show respect for veterans’ families and everyone who visits.
“This work by Hotsy means a great deal to our staff, to veterans’ families and to everyone who visits this sacred space,” said Gavin Sandvig, bureau chief for the Iowa Veterans Benefits Office and the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
